LANL Foundation · Northern NM Pathways to Opportunity Strategy Table
Michael represented the Thornburg Foundation on the Northern New Mexico Pathways to Opportunity Strategy Table and served on its steering committee, working closely with LANL Foundation's Alvin Warren to help build the region's first pooled fund of its kind. The Northern New Mexico Youth Fund combines philanthropic, tribal, state, and federal resources to support career technical education and work-based learning for underserved youth, including Opportunity Youth, Native American youth, and young parents, across the northern part of the state.
Since launching, the fund has awarded more than $1.8 million to organizations across Northern New Mexico, with a goal of pooling over $13 million in public and philanthropic funding by 2027.
